ARDHAT has been nurturing a business relationship with Morgan Sindall for over 10 years. We have been lucky enough to work with them on numerous occasions but we understand we are only as good as our last shift.

This particular project comprises of the construction of a £5.1m, new two form entry primary school which will accommodate 430 students and teaching staff. The new school will be constructed as a two story building, sited on the schools existing playground and will be complete in the summer of 2015. Following occupation of the new school, the existing school building will be demolished and the area re-landscaped as a playground with soft landscaping.

Through early discussions with HARDHAT we were able to focus on the risks that would be present to the public and project for each particular phase of the works.HARDHAT  then presented a number of priced options for us to establish a secure site, this process and outcome provided us with confidence that the risks were then minimised. The security package included full out of hours guarding which was increased with short notice to cover some of the riskier periods on site. The installation of HD CCTV which provided excellent quality video recording covering all elevations of the building, this was recorded both locally in the guard house and also at their remote headquarters. They also supplied and installed a security gatehouse with “fingerprint recognition” for controlling access and egress to the site.

The software for this system was used on a monthly basis to provide a report to the Local Authority on the local labour that had been employed on the project.”

At the heart of this control is the management of time, to ensure operatives are delivering the hours that MS has booked for. Operatives book on/off so no unauthorised billing can occur.  We have achieved the budget spend on all services delivered.

A particular area of concern for Morgan Sindall is the safety of its operatives –HARDHAT are accident free for the last 5 years and have maintained this by incorporating guard tour systems to ensure we comply with Lone Worker Regulations.

Our technology allows us to monitor the activities of our operatives and we are notified of lack of activity which could be because the operative is in distress due to intruder attack or because he may of fallen. Supervisors will escalate this issue and respond immediately to check on the welfare of the operative.
